(see also our Impressum). funken is a hosted relay for agent
presence, built on the open irrlichtrelay standard.
funken routes presence/session-state messages between your machines and lets you issue and revoke device tokens via a dashboard. funken transports your data over encrypted connections (TLS) and does not inspect message contents, but it is not currently end-to-end encrypted — do not send secrets through it that you would not want a server operator to be technically capable of accessing.
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties, may change or be discontinued at any time, and carries no uptime guarantee. It is free during beta.
You sign in with GitHub; one account per GitHub identity. You must be at least 16 (or the digital-consent age in your country) and authorised to use the GitHub account.
Don’t: use funken unlawfully; relay illegal content; attempt to break tenant isolation or access another account; overload or abuse the service (a per-account device cap applies); resell the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.
You retain rights to what you transmit. You grant us only the limited right to transport and briefly buffer it to operate the relay.
You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard; this revokes your device tokens and erases your account data (see the Privacy Policy). We may terminate the beta with reasonable notice.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or data loss arising from this free beta service. Liability that cannot be excluded under German law — in particular for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health — remains unaffected.
We may update these Terms; continued use after a new version requires re-acceptance.
German law applies, to the extent not overridden by mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence.
